Coffee Is Life In A Cup
I’m serious, coffee is life in a cup for me. I don’t care how much sleep I have had, I’m not human until I have had my coffee. Some days I need more than others, but I need it daily, at least two cups. It didn’t always used to be that way though.
As a kid, my parents and older relatives would sit around and have coffee while they talked. Didn’t matter what time of day it was, morning just waking up, afternoon before Bingo, evening after Bingo, didn’t matter. That’s back when kids were seen but not heard. We knew our place and being all up in grown folks business was not it! I always loved the smell of coffee but cringed at the smell of it on someone’s breath. My second grade teacher, Mrs. Garbett always smelled like coffee! My dad, always smelled like coffee and cigarettes. Those are smells so distinct I will never forget them.
As a teen, a lot of my friends drank it before school. I always thought, you have got to be kidding me, why do you need it?! That stuff is for old people like my parents and grandparents. No way can I drink it. After all I had watched my parents, grandparents, great-aunts and uncles drink it black, or with sugar and fake, powdered creamer. Nope. Not gonna happen. Starbucks was non-existent when I was in school, there was nothing fancy about coffee back then!
I became an adult, I was in my early 20’s and was working midnight shift at the railroad. I had to do something besides sleep my life away and cocaine was frowned upon. So I started drinking that delicious, hot bean water. Fully loaded mind you! I took very little coffee with my French Vanilla flavored creamer AND sugar! It’s surprises me I didn’t end up with the Diabeetus from it.
Into my 30’s and now low 40’s, I have often considered just injecting it into my veins but settled on drinking it black to match my soul. I do like to blame my youngest children, my Doom Crew, on why I drink so much coffee, but they surely are not fully to blame. I take my coffee serious, very serious. My husband knows by now to please not talk to me before I have had at least a cup. I’m much less foggy in the brain after one cup and much more pleasant as a human after my third cup. He does like to be a jerk and talk to me immediately after I wake up though. 15 years together and he still enjoys pushing my buttons.
My Favorite Coffee Accessories
About two years ago I ditched our Keurig and switched to a Ninja Coffee Bar. There is just something about a fresh brewed cup of coffee that the Keurig doesn’t give me. After that switch, I started grinding my own beans at home. At first I was thinking it was going to be a mess or a bunch of extra steps between me and my first cup. But its not. It’s super easy! After we remodeled our kitchen, I created sort of coffee bar in my kitchen. In the photo you will see my Ninja coffee pot and my handy Krups coffee grinder. That cute little coffee cup & saucer is a cleverly disguised Scentsy warmer!
Never did I consider myself a coffee connoisseur, I just need it to feel human. I do love the taste, I even gave up the loaded stuff for decaf when I was pregnant with my twins. We all know the only thing decaf is good for is the garbage. I could never write informative posts about coffee, the beans, where it comes from, how it’s made, I’m NOT a sommelier!
Drinking coffee and making money sharing it with friends is right up my alley! Java Momma came to me out of nowhere. I met the founder, Melissa Shoop, at a Social Marketing event in May of 2017. We became Facebook friends and connected over our businesses during the course of the summer. In August, I found out she was creating her very own Direct Sales Company for coffee. COFFEE!!!??? I didn’t care about anything else, sign me up! I’ll be my own best customer. I don’t care if I have never tried it, it’s coffee. How bad can it be? Doesn’t matter, where do I sign up?
I join for $5 and I share it on social media. Fellow coffee lovers are swarming, “How do I join?”, “Where do I sign up?”…It was kind of insane because the company was still in pre-launch. People were joining my team just because it was coffee. Coffee speaks to people on a level nothing else does. It’s survival for some. It’s a casual treat for others.
Java Momma is fresh roasted for you the day you place your order. We offer a variety of coffees, teas and cocoas. We also have a scrumptious selection of flavored syrups, spice rubs, and Keto options! Java Momma also carries Organic, Fair Trade and Kosher Certifications. If you head to my website, you can download your very own FREE E-Book of Keto Cool Down Recipes before you shop.
In March of 2018 I moved my other direct sales business out of a local shop and I moved Java Momma in. It’s a fantastic local storefront 5 miles from my house. The owner is also local and she rents out the storefront that houses almost 50 independent business owners who sell their products right from the shop. It’s a pretty awesome place! If you are local or are ever in Mokena, IL, you should absolutely stop in Redtail Market. My shop there is called Cool Beans and I offer a variety of coffee, loose leaf tea, flavored sugars and super cute accessories! Check out my Pampered Beans business page on Facebook too.
Contact me today if you would like to join my Java Momma team! We are growing nationwide and would love to have you. If not, become one of my valued customers and join my Pamper Happy VIP’s on Facebook, today!
